Dignity for All Students Act (DASA)
The intent of the Dignity for All Students Act is to provide public school students with a safe and supportive environment free from discrimination, intimidation, taunting, harassment, and bullying on school property, on a school bus, as well as at a school-sponsored event or activities.
The Maryvale Board of Education has appointed at least one employee at each school as the Dignity Act Coordinator (DAC). The DAC is thoroughly trained to handle human relations in the areas of race, color, weight, national origin, ethnic group, religion, religious practice, disability, sexual orientation, gender and sex.
If a parent or guardian feels that his/her child has been subjected to discrimination or harassment by a Maryvale employee or student on school grounds or at a school function, the parent/guardian may contact the coordinator by telephone or complete the attached form and send it to the coordinator.
The Dignity Coordinators for each building are:
Primary School: Ms. Suzanne Dell'Oso @ 685-5815
Intermediate School: Ms. Courtney Nuchereno @ 631-7486
Middle School: Ms. Kelly Shaver @ 631-7413
High School: Ms. Kelly Squires @ 631-7456.
