Hello families, Just a reminder that our Valentine's Day Dance is this Friday, 2/9 from 6-7:30 and RSVP forms are due tomorrow! Please use the RSVP sheet sent home with your child to indicate how many people will be attending with your family. Siblings are welcome. Please include them in the total amount of money you are sending in. This is not a drop off event. A parent/guardian must attend and stay with the child for the duration of the event. We will be selling raffle tickets for some really cool prizes. We will also have chips, cookies and water for sale. Don't forget to bring a can of soup to donate to the Maryvale Flyer's Fresh Market! A donation gets the child's name in the raffle to win some prizes! Hope to see you there!

Friendly Reminder! BOOK BINGO is this Thursday from 6-7:30 PM! Thank you to those who have sent their book bingo RSVPs in. If for some reason you didn’t get an RSVP form, you can send in a piece of paper with your child with their name, how many people are coming and how kids there are. Also remember to bring in a gently used book for each child who is playing bingo that can be used as prizes. We are playing only regular bingo, a bunch of winners on each board. We will not have dabbers. We will have crayons that can be used to mark the boards. Snacks and drinks will not be sold. Each student will receive a small bottle of water and a small bagged snack (pretzels, gold fish, smart popcorn or pirates booty) when they arrive. These items have been provided by the PTO for the students. You are also welcome to bring your own snack if you like. We hope to see you there!

Hello Maryvale Families! It’s that time of the year. Many Viruses and illnesses are going around and affecting our students and staff. I thought I would put together a list of reminders of when and when not to come to school. I will start with COVID, yes it is on the rise again. If your child test positive, 5 days of isolation is mandatory, day 1 being the day after the test is taken. They may return to school on day 6 if they have no fever and feel good. It is recommended a mask be worn days 6-10. Please do not send them if they are still fatigued and won’t make it through the day. It will only warrant a call from me asking to have your child picked up. Other respiratory illnesses should be kept home until fever free 24 hours without Tylenol or Motrin. A lingering cough may occur and is ok to be in school unless it is uncontrollable and your child is unable to function with it. Again, fatigue is a symptom that your child needs to rest and stay home. Also, a runny nose that is distracting and not able to be wiped properly by your child is something to keep home until under control. I do feel it is important to mention Conjunctivitis, commonly referred to as pink eye. We have had many cases this year. If your child wakes up and their eye is red, draining, or crusted closed, please do not send them to school. Sometimes these symptoms are part of a cold or virus, but most times it turns out to be pink eye taken care of by an antibiotic eye drop. Only a physician can make a diagnosis as to whether it requires treatment or not. You will be asked to pick up your child if he/she shows such signs in school. Please feel free to call the health office with any question or concern. Thank you for helping keep illness under control for our little ones, Linda Rogacki RN
